Tree Description:

0-013   This old Canadian Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) probably was planted in 1862 as part of a project to bring evergreen trees from Bloomington Nursery to Oak Ridge for their winter beauty and their traditional symbolism representing everlasting life. Look for other old hemlocks in the north part of Oak Ridge.
