0-046 Many black oak trees (Quercus velutina) can be found in Oak Ridge, including a large portion of the oldest trees here that pre-date the founding of the cemetery. This one can be seen behind the GAR Mound, just north of the central valley. It is a common native tree on dry upland soils and south-facing slopes.
